E Coli Bacteria (EHEC) in France and Germany

E coli bacteria is now attacking the children in the Lille, France. Allegedly, they have contracted this bacterial digestion after eating processed minced meat.
News from CNN, Thursday, June 16, at Lille, there are seven children who are now in a critical condition in hospital. Age of the children between 18 months to 8 years.
They were reportedly affected by the disease hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) resulting from bacterial contamination of food by enterohemorrhagic E. coli (EHEC). Patients with HUS can have kidney failure and can result in death. But the French Health Ministry says these children can be saved soul.
These children were allegedly ill after eating processed minced meat produced by the company SEB. Some of the meat in canned food comes from slaughterhouses in Germany, where EHEC outbreak originated.
“There is meat from Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. We are still awaiting test results to find which one is contaminated,” said CEO of SEB, Guy Lamorlette.
Joelle Perrin said that, the E coli that was found is in contrast with E coli from Germany. Although serious, but the outbreak has not entered into an alarming extent.
To stop the outbreak, the French government ordered the withdrawal of SEB canned foods produced from May 10
Meanwhile in Germany, an outbreak of E coli is still not showing signs of abating. The numbers continue to grow with the patient currently reaches 3350 people and 37 of them died.
