Oligohydramnios is a condition where the amount of amniotic fluid in the womb is very low (less than 500 milliliters), whereas the liquid is very important to protect infants from injury and make room for the baby to grow up and move.

Amniotic fluid also keep the umbilical cord between the baby and the uterine wall. In addition, the amount of amniotic fluid also reflects baby’s urine as an important indicator of the health of the baby. This condition usually occurs in 3 semesters of pregnancy. The cause of oligohydramnios

1. Early rupture of amniotic fluid

3. Certain health conditions that occur in the mother such as diabetes, chronic high blood pressure with an excess of protein in the urine after 20 weeks of pregnancy
4. The use of certain drugs such as angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE)
5. Certain health conditions such as growth problems in infants, urinary tract or kidney problems or genetic disorders

Symptoms of oligohydramnios

1. Mother did not immediately give birth
2. Miscarriage, stillbirth, birth defects or premature birth
3. Complications of birth such as pressure on the cord and cesarean births
