Progeria Progressive is a genetic disorder that can cause kids look old before their time. This disease is rare. This is evident since 1886, only about 130 cases of progeria have been documented in scientific literature.
Children who have progeria, also known as Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome (HGPS), and usually appear normal at birth. But at 12 months after birth, the signs and symptoms of Progeria begin to appear, such as skin changes and hair loss
The average life expectancy for a child with progeria is about 13 years, but some can not survive, and some live 20 years or more. Heart problems or stroke is the leading cause of death of children with progeria.
