Rickettsialpox is an infection transmitted to humans by the bite of rat fleas home. Rickettsia Akari is the organism that causes rickettsialpox. A person can contract the disease when infected tick bites an infected rat. Long incubation, from flea bites until the first symptoms for 7 to 14 days. The disease usually goes away by itself.
