Naming Stendhal Syndrome taken from a French writer, Stendhal (pseudonym Henri-Marie Beyle), who describes his experiences during his visit to Florence, Italy in 1817 in the book Naples and Florence: A Journey from Milan to Reggio.
Symptoms: Headache, rapid heart beat, confusion and hallucinations when viewing works of art.
Treatment: Not yet known for certain treatments for this disease. The possibility of psychological therapy to help alleviate the disorder sufferers.
